Hi, I’m Tali – The ADHD Mom Behind This ADHD Mommy

Wife, mommy, fur-mom, creator, designer, blogger and ADHD

I’m the chaotic ADHD Mommy behind This ADHD Mommy👋. I’ve dedicated my life to creating tools, systems and coping mechanisms that make life easier for moms with ADHD.

My ADHD diagnosis story

I was diagnosed with ADD at 8. I was then re-diagnosed with adult ADHD at 17, during the messiest, most turbulent years of my teen/young adult life. In some ways I was one of the lucky ones. So many women aren’t diagnosed until much later, even after years of self-advocating.

Growing up in South Africa, ADHD medication was limited and expensive, and I’ve had an on-again, off-again relationship with it ever since — trying nearly every option, with plenty of failures along the way. I remember feeling “less than”: losing schoolwork in the bottom of my bag, spending hours making beautiful hand-drawn planners I never stuck to.

How planners became my calling

Those planners became my calling. I studied Psychology and Teaching, and I kept designing organizers, to-do lists and trackers to manage my own ADHD — until I found systems that actually worked with my brain instead of against it.

Who I’m really here for: the ADHD mommies

For a long time I thought I was meant to help kids with ADHD. But I’ve realized it’s the ADHD mommies I’m here for. The huge generation of women (the “Lost Girls”) who spent their whole lives with undiagnosed ADHD, now navigating motherhood on top of it.

This ADHD Mommy today

So here I am: This ADHD Mommy. I make ADHD-friendly planners and tools for other mommies with ADHD. I still struggle some days — but I’ve had 25+ years to learn to live and thrive with my ADHD. Everything I make comes from that lived experience. I hope it makes your days a little lighter. 💛
